Description
Gilbarco Calco-Meter gas pump detail. In 1935, 'Gilbarco' was registered as a trademark with the US Patent & Trademark Office, and Gilbert & Barker Manufacturing Co. introduced the first computing pump.
The pump in this image was retired when gasoline was 45 cents per gallon. In the first half of the 1970s, United States gas prices rose from 38 cents to about 55 cents as a result of the Arab Oil Embargo.
